Melania consoles parents going through 'trying times' dealing with virus and shares info on helping children affected by school closures

First lady Melania Trump attempted to quell fears of people with young children forced to stay home from school due to the coronavirus by sharing information about how children can learn at home.

“I know these can be trying times for parents & kids,” she wrote on Twitter. “I encourage students at all grade levels to continue their learning at home. Scholastic Learn At Home allows open access to daily learning.”

The tweet also contained a link to a Scholastic website with tips on the best ways for children to learn from home with specifics for different age groups.

“Even when schools are closed, you can keep the learning going with these special cross-curricular journeys,” the website’s homepage reads. “Every day includes four separate learning experiences, each built around a thrilling, meaningful story or video. Kids can do them on their own, with their families, or with their teachers. Just find your grade level and let the learning begin!”
